The City of Reidsville operates under a Council-Manager form of government. The City Council is composed of seven members serving four-year terms: a voting Mayor elected at large; two Council members voted from District A; two Council members voted from District B; and two Council members elected at large. One of the at-large Council members is selected to be Mayor Pro Tem. Elections are held in October in odd-numbered years. New Council members take office in December of that year. The Council appoints the City Manager.
