Nov. 10th Championship

     The Vikings rolled to a 27-0 win over the Cowboys to capture the Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department's Midget League football playoff championship Thursday night at Community Stadium.

     The Vikings finished tied with the Steelers for the regular season title.

     Austin Paynter scored two touchdowns to lead the Vikings' offense.

     Paynter scored on runs of 7 and 33 yards.

     Samuel Youse had a 13-yard scoring run and Alec Abel had a 33-yard TD run of his own.

     Abel, Coley Thomas, and RaShaun Stephens had conversion runs for the Vikings.

     Youse recovered two fumbles for the Vikes and Thomas also fell on a loose ball.

     James Echols, Titus Jones, Tyrese Smith, Cole Setliff, Isaac Hill, Jalen Easley, and Nelson Smith played well for the Cowboys.

Nov. 8th Playoffs

     The Cowboys upset the regular season co-champion Steelers 6-0 in the first round of the Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department’s Midget League football playoffs Tuesday night at Community Stadium.

     In the other game, the co-champion Vikings edged the Redskins 7-0.

     The Vikings and Cowboys will meet for the playoff championship Thursday at 6 p.m. at Community Stadium.

     Jalen Easley scored on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter to lift the Cowboys.

     The Cowboys defense held off the Steelers throughout.

     Shawn Watlington added a fumble recovery for the Cowboys.

     Elijah Long had a fumble recovery for the Steelers.

Vikings 7

Redskins 0

     The Vikings advanced to the championship game with the win over the Redskins.

     Coley Thomas scored on a five-yard run in the second quarter and Samuel Youse caught the conversion pass from Thomas.

     Barry Stephens had a fumble recovery for the Vikings and Joseph Cheek had an interception.

     Cameron Galloway, Kendall Thomas, and Kenneth Slade had fumble recoveries for the Redskins.

Nov. 5th Results

     The Vikings and Steelers concluded regular season play tied for first place in the Rockingham County North Star Midget League youth football league.

     The Vikings defeated the Redskins 6-0 in overtime Saturday to finish in a tie with the Steelers for first place. The Steelers downed the Cowboys 12-7 in the other game.

     The playoffs in the Midget League begin Tuesday at Community Stadium with the Vikings taking on the Redskins at 6 p.m. followed at 7:15 by the Steelers and Cowboys.

      Samuel Youse scored from five yards out in overtime to lift the Vikings in a turnover-plagued game.

     Austin Paynter, Coley Thomas, and Jordan Bryant recovered fumbles for the Vikings and Rashaun Stephens and Joseph Cheek had interceptions.

     Kendall Thomas and Cameron Galloway recovered fumbles for the Redskins and Anthony Slade and Kenneth Slade had interceptions.

Steelers 12

Cowboys 7

     Jermaine Butler returned a punt for a touchdown and had a 50-yard rushing TD in the third quarter to lift the Steelers.

     Isaac Hill had a rushing touchdown for the Cowboys.

     Zach Perdue recovered a fumble for the Steelers and Shawn Watlington had a recovery for the Cowboys.

Nov. 1st Results

     The Reidsville Steelers and Reidsville Vikings remained tied atop the league standings with wins Tuesday night in Rockingham County North Star Midget Football action at Community Stadium.

     The Steelers slipped past the Cowboys 7-6 while the Vikings drilled the Redskins 25-7.

     Both the Steelers and Redskins have 7-1 records heading into the regular season finale Saturday.

     In Pee Wee action, the Giants blanked the Eden Boys & Girls Club Panthers 24-0.

     Jermaine Butler scored on a 58-yard run in the second quarter and ran in the conversion and the Steeler defense made that lead stand.

     Jalen Easley scored on a six-yard run for the Cowboys in the fourth quarter, but the potential game-tying conversion failed.

     Elijah Long had an interception for the Steelers and Kenneth Pinnix recovered a fumble.

     Easley had an interception for the Cowboys.

Vikings 25

Redskins 9

     The Vikings scored all 25 points in the first half and cruised the rest of the way.

     Coley Thomas had a pair of short scoring runs for the Vikings and Samuel Youse returned a punt 70 yards for one score and added a 65-yard rushing TD.

     Austin Paynter had a conversion run.

     Camron McGhee returned a punt for a TD for the Redskins and Cameron Galloway had a conversion run.

     Marques Millner and Willy Blackstock had fumble recoveries for the Vikings and Kendall Thomas had a recovery for the Redskins.

Giants 24

Panthers 0

     Reggie Brooks had scoring runs of 65 and 75 yards to lead the Giants.

     Caleb Gant added a 55-yard TD run and D.J. Hall had a 60-yard score.

Oct. 25th Results

     The Reidsville Steelers and Reidsville Vikings remained deadlocked atop the league standings with wins Tuesday night in Community Stadium in Rockingham County North Star Midget League football action.

     The Steelers, playing their third overtime game this season, pulled out an 18-12 four overtime thriller over the Redskins while the Vikings knocked off the Cowboys 26-13.

     Both the Steelers and Vikings shared the league lead with 6-1 records with two games remaining on the schedule.

     Adan Mendoza scored from four yards out in the fourth overtime and the Steeler defense made a stand to pull out the win.

     After the two teams played to a scoreless tie in regulation, Butler scored for the Steelers and Camron McGhee for the Redskins in the first OT season. Butler and Cameron Galloway scored for each team in the third extra session before Butler’s TD in the fourth OT allowed the Steelers to escape with the win.

     Thomas Lefler and Jonathan McNeely had fumble recoveries for the Steelers while Lawrence Mitchell had two for the Redskins and Mi’Kal Carter had one.

Vikings 26

Cowboys 13

     The Vikings scored 19 points in the second half to maintain their share of the league lead.

     Coley Thomas, Samuel Youse, and Austin Paynter had rushing touchdowns for the Vikings and Youse had a 17-yard scoring pass from Thomas. Paynter had a pair of conversion runs.

     Paynter had a fumble recovery for the Vikes and Joseph Cheek had an interception.

     Titus Jones had a rushing touchdown for the Cowboys and also threw a 25-yard scoring strike to Nelson Smith. Isaac Hill had a conversion run.

     T.J. Baker recovered a fumble for the Cowboys.

Oct. 22nd Results

     The Reidsville Redskins rolled to a 13-0 win over the Eden Packers in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Saturday at Morehead High School.

     In the other games, the Reidsville Vikings blanked the Boys & Girls Club Ravens 26-0 and the Reidsville Cowboys beat the Eden Steelers 28-7.

     Camron McGhee’s two-yard run and conversion gave the Redskins a 7-0 lead at halftime. Cameron Galloway scored on a 34-yard run to clinch the win in the second half.

     Galloway and Joe Blackburn had interceptions for the Redskins.

Vikings 26

Ravens 0

     The Vikings erupted for 20 points in the second half to blow open a close game.

     Austin Paynter, Coley Thomas, and Samuel Youse had rushing touchdowns for the Vikings and Willy Blackstock had a fumble return for another score.

     Paynter had a conversion run and Youse caught a conversion pass from Thomas.

     Alec Abel had a fumble recovery for the Vikings.

Cowboys 28

Steelers 7

     Jalen Easley had two TD runs in the first half to lead the Cowboys.

     Shawn Watlington also had a scoring run and Nelson Smith caught a 19-yard TD pass from Titus Jones.

     Easley had two conversions, Jones one and Trell Rankin one.

Jevon Johnson scored the lone Steeler touchdown and Parker Wilson had the conversion.

     Jovan Scales and Easley had fumble recoveries for the Cowboys.

 

Oct. 18th Results

     The Reidsville Vikings pulled out a 25-19 five overtime thriller over the Reidsville Steelers in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Tuesday night at Community Stadium.

     In the other game, the Reidsville Cowboys edged the Reidsville Redskins 12-6.

     Alec Abel scored on a seven-yard run in the fifth overtime and then the Vikings held the Steelers on fourth down to pull out the win.

     After playing to a 13-13 tie in regulation, neither team scored in the first extra session. Jermaine Butler scored for the Steelers in the second OT and Samuel Youse answered for the Vikings.

     Both teams were held scoreless in the third and fourth overtimes before the deciding fifth extra period decided the outcome.

     Butler scored on two long runs and Dajour Tatum had a conversion run in regulation for the Steelers.

    Coley Thomas scored on a pair of short runs for the Vikings and Barry Stephens had a conversion in regulation.

     Abel had two fumble recoveries and an interception for the Vikings. Austin Paynter and DaQuez Jackson alsohad fumble recoveries.

Cowboys 12

Redskins 6

     Jalen Easley scored on a 58-yard run in the third quarter to lift the Cowboys.

     Nelson Smith hauled in a 28-yard scoring pass from Titus Jones.

     Dexter Scales scored on a 53-yard run for the Redskins.

     Tyrese Smith had a fumble recovery for the Cowboys.

Oct. 15th Results

     The Reidsville Steelers remained undefeated with a 7-6 win over the Eden Packers in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Saturday at Community Stadium.

     In other games, the Reidsville Cowboys whipped the Boys & Girls Club Ravens 27-6 and the Reidsville Redskins slipped past the Eden Steelers 18-12.

     Reidsville held off a late comeback attempt by the Eden Steelers.

     Jermaine Butler scored on a 28-yard run in the first half and Dajour Tatum had the conversion run.

     DeAndre Graves scored on a 21-yard pass from Keivon Broadnax in the second half for the Packers, but the conversion failed.

     Isaiah Boone and Thomas Lefler had fumble recoveries for Reidsville and Kasim Morris had a pass interception.

     Noah Blackwell had a fumble recovery for Eden.

Cowboys 27

Ravens 6

     The Cowboys led 20-0 at halftime and rolled to the easy win.

     Jalen Easley had two rushing touchdowns in the first half and Isaac Hill had one. Titus Jones also threw a 35-yard TD pass to Nelson Smith. Easley and Shawn Watlington had conversion runs.

     Jasahn Rankin recovered a fumble for the Cowboys and Travis Fain had an interception for the Ravens.

Redskins 18

Eden Steelers 12

     Jevon Johnson’s 75-yard kickoff return gave the Steelers the early lead before Dexter Scales and Camron McGhee scored to rally the Redskins. Scales added a clinching touchdown late in the game.

     Johnson capped the scoring with a 41-yard run.

     Xavier King and Mi’Kal Carter had fumble recoveries for the Redskins and Javien Scales had one for the Steelers. Johnson added an interception.

Oct. 8th Results

     The Reidsville Cowboys won their first game of the season with a 21-0 shutout of the Eden Packers in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Saturday at Morehead High School.

     In other North Star games, the Reidsville Vikings blanked the Eden Steelers 14-0 and the Reidsville Steelers beat the Boys & Girls Club Ravens 24-14.

     Jalen Easley opened the game with a 75-yard kickoff return and added a 51-yard scoring run in the second half. Titus Jones also had a one-yard scoring run. Easley, Shawn Watlington, and George Hemphill had conversion runs.

     Jasahn Rankin, T.J. Baker, and Chance Townsend had fumble recoveries for the Cowboys and Tyrese Smith had an interception.

     Bryton Fuller recovered a fumble for the Packers and DeAndre Graves had a pass interception.

Vikings 14

Steelers 0

   Samuel Youse had a seven-yard scoring run and a conversion to lead the Vikings. Alec Abel also had a 10-yard scoring run and Coley Thomas chipped in with a conversion run.

     Barry Stephens recovered a fumble.

Steelers 24

Ravens 14

     Jermaine Butler scored three touchdowns to lead the Reidsville Steelers.

     Isaiah Boone also returned a fumble for a score.

     Travis Fain had a scoring run for the Ravens and threw a 19-yard scoring pass to Bennett Nooe. The Raven defense also recorded a safety.

     Paul Bolen recovered a fumble for the Steelers and Fain had a recovery for the Ravens.

Oct. 4th Results

     The Steelers outlasted the Redskins 43-37 in six overtimes in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Midget League football game Tuesday at Community Stadium.

     In the other game, the Vikings downed the Cowboys 19-13.

     Jermaine Butler’s 10-yard run in the sixth overtime lifted the Steelers to the marathon win.

     Butler’s score came after the Steelers stopped the Redskins on their sixth overtime possession.

     Butler scored four times in overtime and Timmy Buck scored once.

     Camron McGhee had all four OT touchdowns for the Redskins.

Butler finished the game with six touchdowns and one conversion.

     McGhee scored six times for the Redskins and caught a conversion pass from Dexter Scales.

     Kasim Morris recovered a fumble for the Steelers and Cameron Galloway had a pass interception for the Redskins.

     The game was tied 13-13 at the end of regulation.

Vikings 19

Cowboys 13

     Austin Paynter’s 22-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter lifted the Vikings.

     Paynter also had a three-yard TD run while Samuel Youse scored from 55 yards out. Coley Thomas had a conversion run.

     Jalen Easley scored on a 58-yard run for the Cowboys and   Isaac Hill returned a fumble 40 yards for another TD. Easley also had a conversion run.

     Chance Townsend and Shawn Watlington had fumble recoveries for the Cowboys as well.

     David Lawson and Cole Setliff had good games defensively for the Cowboys while Willy Blackstock, Daquez Jackson, and Alec Abel played well for the Vikings.

Oct. 1st Results

     The Reidsville Vikings used a solid defensive effort to blank the Eden Packers 21-0 in a Rockingham County North Star Midget League football game Saturday at Community Stadium.

     In other North Star games, the Reidsville Steelers downed the Eden Steelers 27-13 and the Reidsville Redskins outscored the Boys & Girls Club Ravens 38-27.

     Samuel Youse scored on runs of 20 and 65 yards and Austin    Paynter scored on an eight-yard run to lead the Vikings.

     Paynter had a pair of conversion runs and Coley Thomas had one.

     Youse and Alec Abel had interceptions.

     Seth Gammons recovered a fumble for the Packers.

Reidsville Steelers 27

Eden Steelers 13

     Reidsville ran out to a 27-0 lead in the easy win.

Jermaine Butler scored on a 78-yard rush and a 67-yard punt return while Kasim Morris and Elijah Long had rushing scores.     Butler had one conversion run and Dejour Tatum had two.

     Jevon Johnson scored on a 48-yard run for Eden and Justin Phillips returned a fumble for another score. Parker Wilson had a conversion run.

     Javien Scales recovered a fumble for Eden.

Reidsville Redskins 38

Boys & Girls Ravens 27

     Dexter Scales and Xavier King scored two touchdowns each to lead the Redskins.

     Lawrence Mitchell and Camron McGhee scored one apiece.

     Cameron Galloway had two conversion runs and also recovered a fumble.

     Travis Fain scored three rushing touchdowns for the Ravens and also threw a TD pass to Alex Sedwick. Fain also ran in three conversions.

     Bennett Nooe and Jacob Reynolds recovered fumbles for the Ravens.

Sept. 27 Results

     Camron McGhee scored a late fourth quarter touchdown to rally the Redskins to a 19-14 win over the Cowboys in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department Midget League football game Tuesday at Community Stadium.

     In the other game, the Steelers downed the Vikings 19-6.

     McGhee scored on a 13-yard run in the final minute of the game to rally the Redskins.

     McGhee also scored on runs of 1 and 7 yards during the game and had a conversion run.

     Ethan Busick recovered a fumble and Cameron Galloway intercepted a pass.

     For the Cowboys, Titus Jones threw touchdown passes of 15 yards to Nelson Smith and of 33 yards to T.J. Baker.

     Jalen Easley had a pair of conversion runs.

     Cole Setliff and Trell Rankin recovered fumbles.

Steelers 19

Vikings 6

     Jermaine Butler scored on a 41-yard run and returned a punt 40 yards for another score. He also had a conversion run.

     Tim Buck added a one-yard scoring run.

     Kenneth Pinnix recovered a fumble.

     Samuel Youse scored on a 25-yard run for the Vikings and Rashaud Stephens and Youse had fumble recoveries. Alec Abel intercepted a pass for the Vikings.
