The Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department will begin accepting registration for its youth football and cheerleading program July 15.
Football is open to ages 4-6 (Flag), 7-9 (contact), and 10-12 (contact). Cheerleading is for ages 7-13.
The age determination date for football is Sept., meaning whatever the age on Sept. 1 is the playing age for the season.
There is a 90-pound weight limit on skill position players in 7-9 and a 125-pound weight limit on skill position players in 10-12. There is no overall weight limit.
Registration fees for Flag Football are $10 for city residents and $20 for non-city residents. For contact leagues the fees are $15 for city residents and $30 for non-city residents.
Those registering for cheerleading must pay a $25 uniform deposit. Registration fees are $10 for city residents and $20 for non-city residents.
The registration deadline is Sept. 3. No middle school players are allowed to participate in recreation leagues.
There will be a $5 fee for late registration provided there is room for additional players after the deadline.
All participants must provide a birth certificate and proof of insurance.
